Synopsis
The Hip Hop Climate Conference & Concert (HHCCC) is a joint initiative by Hip Hop Is Green (HHIG) and AVELA , designed to empower Black and Brown communities through education, culture, and environmental advocacy. The event united Hip Hop artists, community leaders, and STEM professionals to inspire action on climate change, increase BIPOC representation in STEM fields, and promote sustainable living.
Strategy
Our approach started with a discovery session to understand the core mission of HHCCC. By analyzing the intersection of Hip Hop and climate activism, we developed an identity that visually and emotionally resonated with both artists and educators. The strategy focused on clear messaging, high-impact visuals, and a design system that could scale across all event elements.

Design
The identity was built on the notion of energy, nature, and cultural authenticity within Hop Hop. Bold typography, dynamic compositions, and a rich color palette reflected the vibrancy of Hip Hop while maintaining the credibility needed for academic and environmental communication. Each element was designed to ensure consistency across digital, print, and physical event spaces, creating a visually unified experience that amplified the event’s message.

The Impact
The Hip Hop Climate Conference provided jobs, visibility, and social impact programming while promoting health, wellness, and STEM education. It fostered grassroots engagement, uplifted community organizations, and inspired a new wave of climate-conscious leaders through the power of Hip Hop.
